nice product
Instruction sheet was light and harder to read. Product worked well once we had it installed.

This is a fantastic product. Do not wait!
I purchased the Pertronix 1244AP6 6 Volt Positive Ground Ford 4 Cylinder Ignitor and PerTronix 40011 Flame-Thrower 40,000 Volt 1.5 ohm Coil and installed them on a 1953 Ford Jubilee tractor.Although I like keeping old tractors as authentic as possible, the difficulty that I had in recent years in obtaining quality ignition points forced my decision. Ignition parts -- plugs, points, condensers, coils -- are now pretty much all made in China, and are not equal to the parts that were available back in the day. I finally lost my patience after a meticulous tuneup when my tractor developed a long crank before starting and a miss that I attributed to a faulty carb. ( I had just done a tuneup, after all). After rebuilding and then replacing the carb with all the adjustments, I took another look at the points. They were misaligned...causing the long cranking and the misfire.I purchased and installed the Pertronix parts. I took my time, and even so was finished in about an hour. The instructions were kind of vague about removing the existing grounding strap/grommet from the distributor, but once that was out, installation was easy.Starting the tractor, I was amazed when it caught and started immediately. It runs flawlessly, and seems to have more hp.I am very, very pleased with this product and am sorry that I did not install it sooner.A last note...no alteration of the distributor, dust cover, rotor was required. Everything fit easily.

Works great. Instructions could be better.
Along with a flamethrower coil, this helped me start my 1952 8n without having to pull it. I'm still working on some other running issues she has, but now I've at least eliminated coil, condenser and points. Directions could be better. They don't tell you that you need to remove the ignition wire and its hardware from the side of the distributor (where the wire from the coil enters the distributor) and then pull the igniter wire through that hole. Also the dust cap doesn't fit over everything tightly, so she's running without it.

Works great on paper
I bought a total of two of these for my jubilee. Both were dead on arrival. Now the second I am not allowed to return . Lol. I’ll just eat the $140…

Great product!
Great product. On my Ford tractor, I found that I need to open the hole on the dust cover. There is a more complete set of instructions online, at Pertronix Installation Instructions. I'm happy with the system. Addendum: This review was from Oct. 2014. It has since failed when it was two months out of warranty. However, I liked it so much that I bought another one. That 1950 tractor has never started so good, even in Ohio winters. Well worth the money.

Super easy installation
This is the second Pertronix electronic ignition kit I have installed. Both kits, each for a different model of engine, installed in the same amount of time as it took to replace a set of points. No modifications needed, all needed parts included, and the instructions are clear and specific to the engine/kit. Very happy with Pertronix. Nice to be rid of troublesome points. One engine was either old enough, or rare enough, that points weren't even available, but Pertronix had a kit for it!
