this worked for me
I used it with an arduino

Works fine with Arduino Uno
Just tested it with the Cardinfo sketch. Works fine with Arduino Uno. However, when I tried it with a NodeMCU LUA, I had a problem. Anytime its MISO wire was attached to the nodeMCU, the MCU would stop working. Since the problem is probably with the NodeMCU and not the card reader, I am giving this 4 starts.

New defective board
First time I tried to insert a micro SD card it would only go about halfway into the slot. After a bunch of unusual wiggling and insertion attempts something seemed to pop loose inside the SD card slot and the card suddenly went in correctly. I was able to use the SD card OK as a data logger. I checked my data on a PC and it was recorded correctly. BUT... when I tried to reinstall the SD card into this board's card slot the card won't 'lock' into place. I carefully push it in and it springs right back out. My assumption is that I just happened to receive a 'new defective' board. Your luck may be better.

Works OK
This module works OK.I am using this with Arduino MKR 1400, so far I have had two problems with this module:1- every often it it can't read the card in it. the easy fix is to remove and re-insert the card.2- no matter if it is selected or not (via chip select), it consumes around 10 ml which for my project is not acceptable. I needed this module to use no energy when I go to sleep mode but it is not the case here.Generally I like it. however if you project needs to run on a battery, I wouldn't recommend this one unless you have a turn off switch of something.

WARNING: DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT, IT IS A SCAM.
I have been trying for 6 hours to get this to work. 2 different arduinos. 2 different sd card libraries. Checked the wiring. tried different sd card formats. None of them work. I am returning this item as quickly as possible
