Super smooth writer - awesome fountain pen
My pen writes so smooth - I was truly amazed ... I purchased the 2 set and sent the all black one to a pen friend ... I kept the black pen with silver clip. This is a lot of fountain pen for the money. I have over 100 fountain pens and some that cost a lot more than this one don't write this well. Not only that but I have seen other more experienced fountain pen people take the nib off and replace with other Lamy style nibs in broader sizes which I have not yet been able to take my nib off but I carefully keep trying because I do prefer a Broad nib. But if it won't come off this is one of the very smoothest fine nibs I've written with ... just as good as the Lamy F nibs in my Safari's. I don't think you can go wrong with this fountain pen. The converter is much easier to take care of than a piston filler and this is an elegant writer which is more comfortable to grip than the Lamy 2000.

Good writer, a fixable mechanical problem.
This pen is a very good writer in the F nib.The one I got has a cylinder at the base of the body that the section screws into. It was not glued into the body, and just fell out with the section. I took a match-head sized piece of HandiTAK and wrapped it around the piece, then pushed it back in. This took care of the problem. If you have epoxy or CA glue around it would probably work, too.Other than that problem, I find the texture and look of the pen excellent, but had to take off a star for having to repair the pen on arrival.

Feels cheap, but writes well.
Not much else to say beyond the headline. The comparison of the barrel material to a gas station give-away steak knife is quite apt.But it writes very, very well - I have the EF nib - and I give it a fourth star for including a converter.

A nicer pen than some of mine that cost 10 times more.
This pen is well made and a good writer, which is particularly surprising given the extreme low cost. While it may not be perfect for every fountain pen enthusiast, it certainly would make a great entry pen and/ or an interesting addition to someone’s existing collection.

Fantastic for the Price
The comparison of the barrel surface to "a gas-station steak knife" is a little unfair. The texture is nowhere near that rough. It's more comparable to a Marks-A-Lot pen, but the finish is actually a little smoother. No doubt, the body is some kind of cheap thermoplastic, but the construction is good: precise, balanced, relatively rugged. And everything the other customers say about the nib precision is true. I bought a set of the 0.3mm nibs, expecting at that fineness skips, globs, and other flow problems. But no! With a high-quality ink like Noodler's it's smooth as silk.I'm going to buy another set. Anything this cheap and nice always gets discontinued.

very nice
Reasonably smooth nibs and look nice. At a distanced you might not know they are not Lamy 2000s, but up close you can see they are plastic. But the look is nice. For seven bucks each, these pens are nice and can be used and carried without any real regrets if lost or taken from the office by someone who I will not name.

Decent writer - feels cheap
Bought on a whim and it’s ok for a very entry level experience. The “carbon fiber” is cheap rough plastic that feels like the handle of a dollar store steak knife.I don’t think it would fool anyone into thinking it was the real thing. But the nib is pretty decent and it writes pretty well.

Great value for an every day fountain pen
These may not quite be up to the standards of the Lamy 2000, but for the money, they're great. I have a Lamy 2000 rollerball, and I love it, but I find these fountain pens to be very close to the Lamy feel at a tiny faction of the price. At the price, these are great for everyday carry. They write well....I've experienced no skips or hard starts. I have the fine nibs on mine, which seems closer to a medium, and it works fine for me. I do tend to prefer a bold nib and wish these were available in a bold, but as I said, these are hard to beat for the price.

Great fountain pen well made
Saw a review online took a chance and happy I did you get two different clips with matching trim one silver one black i used a Lamy Safari nib on one of them a broad nib and it writes so nice at this price this is a great EDC pen if lost no drama as opposed to the original Lamy 2000 this pen represents. Wish they offered different nib sizes.

Lamy 2000
