the top surface is not completely level. the edges are scalloped upwards ever so slightly. so it is not possible to screw on a standard arca-swiss compatible clamp. and the clamp i'm trying to use is from 3LT themselves! as you try to rotate the clamp, it will bump in to the scalloped edges.other than that, the design is extremely clunky and heavy. this was a component taken from their legends tripod series which are designed for video use. the only real use case for this leveling "base" is if you have a legends tripod and somehow lost the base and need a replacement. definitely not for photography. i have a 3LT carbon fibre punks tripod (which is actually pretty decent) but this monster is half the weight of my tripod. putting it on top will topple the tripod at the slightest gust of wind.also, it's superpricey.
