A handy little boon!
A handy little boon to all those who need trustworty and transportable document storage! You have a massive four terrabites of memory which, once you've downloaded all your files you can free up lots of memory on your mainframe and speed up your PC or laptop. Its simplicity itself to use, just plug in to your USB port and start downloading. I had huge lots of photofiles from digital cameras back to 2006 with literally hundreds of thousands of images and it took all of those with still huge memory stores remaining. A superb little external memory, which is super fast and is only 10X7 cm's and 1 1/2 thick. I commend one to all you folks, especially photographers, who need big storage!

A great exteral drive
This drive has been very valuable for storing content that I needed to move off my laptop to free up some space. Transfer rates are good and it works well.I have a few external drives and one comes with a nice and handy carry case. The case is better and it provides some protection from direct impact when transporting the drive. This WD drive doesn't come with such a case, which is why I've marked it down on the portability score.

Good Storage But Old USB architecture transfer speeds
Backing up the resources from several web sites, this worked easily in Windows 10 and the inbuilt software set up is good to use once the USB port limitations are discovered. The devices architecture is based on legacy USB 2 ports. Connecting to a USB 3 port means the device is not recognised and no initial install of the device software can happen. So, at install time only your backward compatible USB 2 ports will do the job.Once set up its easy to use and will appear in your file explorer as whatever drive letter you choose to allocate. All in all its a worthwhile purchase and I highly recommend it to anyone loking for a cost effective and portable backup device. There is no technical support other than that which is available through search engines as the tech sheet in the tiny package is totally irrelevant being based on 4 years old architecture.

Plenty of storage for little money
I purchased this external drive as my existing 1tb one was getting a bit full. Although I had only purchased my WD 1tb drive 2 years earlier, the cost of the equivalent 4tb drive was almost identical. It is amazing how the cost of storage has come down over the past few years. My first pc purchased in 1997 had an 8gb capacity. It was straightforward to set up with the software required already stored on the drive itself and it is easy to use. To date I have experienced no technical issues with it and have already started transferring files from my old drive without encountering any problems. It is great value for money and I can recommend it as a cheap and no nonsense storage solution.

Excellent value for money
I bought this (4TB size) to replace an older 1TB drive that was almost full. Both drives are of the same brand and type, and I fully expect the new one to last as along, and be as reliable as the original one.Excellent read and write speeds via USB3. Very good price as well considering the 4TB capacity. You simply can't go wrong with this - highly recommended to others.

100% worth the price!
I personally use my hard drive to store games for me to play being a child and moving from house to house it's perfect! The only thing to say and that is that if you are purchasing this hard drive for the same porpoise as me (playing games) then I'd like you to know the loading times aren't the best but that's all you can really expect from a £83 4TB hard drive if you want to use this hard drive for photos or a backup of some sort then I can guarantee you that this will fulfil you every need. I'd recommend this for casual gamers but if your more hardcore and have a larger budget I'd highly recommend that you buy a faster hard drive.
