I had to order this set several times to get 3 good sets.
I ordered my 1st set based on the reviews that were given, it was to be a gift. When the package arrived I opened it to inspect all the pieces. I was disappointed to see that the knife block looked used, it had dents and dings in the wood as well as being scratched. I returned the set and the replacement was fine. I ordered a set for myself, thinking the 1st set was just a fluke that it arrived damaged. The set arrived and when I opened it to inspect the knifes, I noticed that the 7" Santoku knife had a gouge in the blade. So this set will be going back, I am waiting for the replacement set to arrive. Maybe I just have bad luck or maybe there is no quality control now days!

DO NOT get these handles even slightly wet!
Nice sharp knives, but be very careful even getting these wet! Hand washed a few of the steak knives, since they are not dishwasher safe, and the handles dulled quickly!! Not pleased with this part at all!! I submitted pics to show this problem.

You get More than you pay for!
We all know the saying, "you get what you pay for." Sometimes, you get less. Every great once in a while, though, you get more than what you pay for - and such is the case with this knife set.The knives are solid and well made, with the wood handles fitting tightly, with no rough edges, loose spots or finish defects. The knives are quite sharp, easily going through meat, bread and anything else I put in front of them. I expected a decent set that would last for a while, but this set exceeded my expectations and I don't know that I will ever have to buy more knives, ever. The one and only piece I am not thrilled with is the sharpening stick. The quality of the stick does not match the quality of the knives. But that's a small price to pay to get a serious knife set for around $70. That price still blows me away!My father had a set of Chicago Cutlery knives that survived 4 teenagers and lasted almost 40 years. Some knives remain, but the handles suffered from being put in a dishwasher. I wanted something like that, without a $300+ price tag. I believe these knives are better. The styles are well-chosen for a complete set, though having a couple plastic handle paring knives you can stick in a dishwasher might come in handy. No good knife set should be washed in a dishwasher. Even if the handles aren't wood, quality knives are made from high carbon steel, which will suffer in a dishwasher. It's just the way it is. So if you can't stick the metal in there, why not get natural wood handles that are comfortable and will stand the test of time?I absolutely recommend this set and may even buy a couple to give as gifts before the price goes up to where you might expect it to be! Excellent wedding or housewarming gift, BTW.

They're Okay
I hate to give a mediocre review but these knives are really just okay. They are much lighter and thinner than I thought they would be and for $70 I was expecting a bit more. They do cut and the wood seems nice. Also, my biggest complaint is that the metal to wood in the handles are not flush. For me, that is super important in a knife. Feeling the metal edge in my palm when I am cutting is a bit annoying and can be uncomfortable. Even bargain knives from Target or Walmart generally have flush handles. They're not horrible, but they're not great either. I feel that I paid about $20 -$30 more than I should have for these.

Beautiful and sharp
I am not a chef or even that great of a cook (so maybe not the most important review), but I do like to cook/bake. I wanted a nice knife set in a block with a set of serrated steak knives. I purchased the Waddle Wood set and they are absolutely gorgeous. Very sharp too. I think the first thing I used one on was an onion. Nothing major. Very clean cut, so they can at least cut an onion without issue. I think the second thing was a pone of cornbread. Again, very clean cut. They are forged with a full tang and have a nice weight to them. They also came with a sharpener.

Really Nice
They look great and are very well made, and sharp. Sissors seem ok, but the rest is excellent. Don't put in dishwasher of course. We accidentally did with one of the steak knives, and now the wood handle on that one is slightly lighter. And of course, do not scrub with the coarse side of a sponge, only the soft side. All in all, we are very delighted with them.

Beauty and performance
After extensive research on knife sets, I finally decided on the emojoy set. I chose them for their overall look and price and also how people said they performed. They were right! The knives are great and beautiful. We hand wash them right after each use and they still look and function as if they were brand new! I am very happy with this purchase.

Nice set
Nice little knife set. This set is a solid value for the money. These aren't going to compete with shun or high end German blades, but these are very nice for their price class.Disregard any review stating the varnish wears off, they likely sent it through a dishwasher. First thing you should do is coat the block, knives, and handles in mineral oil (food grade) this will help with keeping that fresh look and protect the wood and blade.
