Generations later mankind has finally re-established a rudimentary society, in which bounty hunters roam the land in search of wanted eco-criminals. Gage infiltrates Jackson s gang, and everything is going to plan until she meets a slave girl that reminds her of her dead sister. With her loyalty to only herself now tested, Gage learns that there might be more to life than just survival.StarringGina Carano (Deadpool, Fast & Furious 6, Haywire) John Hannah (The Mummy & The Mummy Returns, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV Series) Ryan Robbins (Arrow TV Series, Falling Skies, Continuum, Sanctuary)Alisha Newton (Heartland, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters)Stephanie Bennett (Shadownhunters TV Series, UnREAL)Directed byPeter Howitt (Sliding Doors, Laws of Attraction) Review "Bolstered by a strong lead performance from Carano, great action set pieces, and impressive world-building, this is one action-thriller that delivers on both of those fronts." --Film Threat"Sliding Doors director Peter Howitt might seem like an unlikely figure to helm an action movie that resembles a cross between a John Wayne western and an episode of The Walking Dead, but Howitt conjures up a ridiculously entertaining post-apocalyptic thriller that pits a bounty hunter (Gina Carano) against a power-hungry outlaw (Ryan Robbins.)" --Digital Media First

liberal fantasy
could not get too far into this mess. this is the future liberals would love to have. most people are dead, women are more like men and people with an SUV are villains.

DO NOT BOTHER!
Would have given it less but felt one was sufficient. Post apocalyptic movie with 2 women Gina Carano and Stephanie Bennett who are supposed to be afraid of some radiation cloud but still have the time to wash and treat their hair then curl it before setting out into death....WTF when you put together a "breathing" apparatus that is nothing more than a gas mask without a filter and two completely clean women with shiny hair and pretty nails you get this shit of a movie!

Real Action Heroine
Tired of watching supermodels and stunt doubles in female action movies? Then watch real action heroine. Gina Carano is an MMA legend and kicks butt in this movie as only a true fighter can.

About the quality I would expect for a movie on the SYFY network.
I ripped another reviewer a new one for rating the movie only on his/her dislike of the 'liberal fantasy' plot elements, so i feel like i have to give this movie a review myself. As the title says, this movie feels like something I would see on SyFy. The acting, camera work, flow, and plot are decent. Not GREAT, but decent. as far as genre, it's like western meets post-apocalypse. As the reviewer who i chewed out mentions, there is something of a liberal bent to the plot: the sky has fallen due to carbon emissions leaving the air and water poisoned. the 'bad guys' are called 'burners' and drive vehicles that emit carbon gases. this is punishable by the 'authority,' which is basically the current stand-in state apparatus. i give the movie three stars. it's certainly watchable, but i wouldn't write home about it. a decent movie-night movie.

A Really Good Post Apocalyptic Movie!
I suspect this is pretty much a sleeper of movie, but for me it's anything but! True my all time favorite PA movie is Book of Eli, followed by the Mad Max series with Road Warrior being the best of the four, but this movie, Scorched earth comes next. No, it's not a high budget movie, but it is still very well done. The actors are great in my book and Gina Carano is perfect in the lead, playing a very lovable bounty hunter in a PA world. The story line is also equally great, and well introduced and played out. This one has a bit of everything - cool costumes and lots of goggles and PA attire, Cars a la Mad Max, lots of action and if you like westerns, it's even got horses! So if Post Apocalypse is your thing, don't miss this one!

Lots of Action, some plot, some humor--Exactly what you expect from Gina Carano
This is not a great movie--but it is good enough for the genre and budget. It has budgetary and post-apocalyptic assumption flaws but delivers action with some dry humor while sticking to a tried and true plot line. Considering that we have to work within the scorched earth premise despite a history of adapting to changes amazingly well there has to be some give and take to get the movie out the door. I loved the gritty western style of the filming and sets. Assuming they were setting a western in future explains why our heroine is nearly indestructible. Ms. Carano can play that role exceedingly well. Sadly, the director here should be excoriated for not using her prowess more. One of these days another film will figure out how to use her talents perfectly. Until then. The bad guys were bad enough. The good guys internally conflicted and in the end they ride off into the sunset which works to close the movie. You can do oh so much worse in looking for action. Nothing here insults the intelligence of a viewer. Points for that and remember we are looking at low budget SF/Western. It is great to see Luvia Petersen getting screen time as she plays grit well. .

Didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised.
Had no idea who Gina Carano was until now and I watch non-acclaimed shows on 1.5+ speed because they are usually boring. The premise of the entire film was intellectually insulting, but the acting carried the day drawing you in pretty well. I completely forgot that the characters needed to use breathers and didn't for the last 30 minutes of the film. Great supporting cast of fine character actors helped, of course, but it was a very solid B+ film.

The Postperson? Watch it anyway.
Kevin Costner with two X chromosomes? So much of this movie was taken from The Postman, but it's an OK western movie anyway. It's so funny how you put a SciFi spin on a western and you get a mostly good movie. Two stars is still good. Just don't expect much and you'll be happy. The characters are fine. It's interesting to a point. Let go of the preposterous, and just let it unroll. We can all recognize the propaganda; it's pervasive. And that makes it somewhat comical too. Unintentionally, of course.
